What's ball compression, and does it really need its own fitting step?
It's a measurement of how much a golf ball's core squashes on contact. Line it up with your clubhead speed and energy transfers more efficiently at impact — get it wrong and you're leaving ball speed on the table the same way a bad shaft choice would. It's part of every club session we run, not a separate add-on.
Do I need to already play well to book a session?
Not close to it. Golfers with slower swing speeds are often the ones playing the biggest compression mismatch, since tour-level balls get marketed hardest regardless of who's actually generating the speed to use them well.
How much of my afternoon does a session take?
A single club — driver, wood, hybrid, wedge, or putter — runs 45–60 minutes. A full iron set runs 60–90. The full bag package with a ball rack comparison usually takes 2.5 to 3 hours.
Am I on the hook to buy anything afterward?
No. Nothing here obligates a purchase. You walk out with a printed spec sheet regardless, and if you do order later, the session fee comes straight off the invoice.
What should I show up with?
Whatever clubs relate to your session, the shoes you actually wear on course, and a sleeve of your current ball if you happen to have one — it gives us a real starting compression to measure against.
I already like my current setup — is there still a reason to come in?
Plenty of people book just to confirm their existing specs are actually correct, or to run a compression check on a ball they've played for years without ever thinking to question it.
Once I order, how long until clubs are ready?
Most builds finish inside a week, since we keep components in-house and assemble on-site instead of routing orders through an outside factory queue.
Do you work with left-handed players?
Yes, across every category on the menu. Demo inventory and ball testing both work identically regardless of which side you swing from.
What if something feels off once I start playing the new build?
Any loft, lie, or length tweak within 30 days of pickup is on the house while your swing settles into the equipment.
How far out do you draw clients from?
The bench sits inside Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, and we regularly see golfers from across Madison County and the broader Tennessee Valley.
